Gail Boxrud is director of Minnesota for the International Krav Maga Federation based in Israel.
     Her ranking in the IKMF is Graduate 5.
     She started Krav Maga training in February 2003 in Racine, Wisconsin.  She completed 180 hours of instructor training in Montreal, Canada, and earned her teaching credentials in the summer of 2007.
     Boxrud has traveled to Israel 4 separate times to train in Krav Maga: two different Touring and Training sessions; she earned her law enforcement teaching certification there in May 2009 and she returned in 2011 for advanced Krav Maga training.
     She has trained in numerous seminars. As director and school owner, she has hosted and organized several courses and numerous seminars.
     Boxrud is also a certified security cyclist with the International Police Mountain Bike Association.
     She  has a bachelor’s degree in print journalism and worked in newspapers for 16 years. Her background includes kickboxing and MMA training. She trains in Krav Maga, kettlebells and enjoys bicycling, running and sea kayaking.

     Dante Pastrano earned his teaching credentials in Montreal in August 2008. He traveled to Israel to earn his law enforcement instructor certification in May 2009 and again for advanced Krav Maga training in 2011.
        His training includes numerous Krav Maga seminars as a student and instructor and host. His background includes more than 12 years of kickboxing and Kung-Fu training and teaching.
     Pastrano is also a certified security cyclist with the International Police Mountain Bike Association.
     Pastrano grew up in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. He is bilingual, so he can teach in Spanish and English.  His rank in the IKMF is G-4.

    Staci Owens is certified to teach civilians and women. She has been training in Krav Maga in Minneapolis since January 2009. Staci has taken several seminars from Avi Moyal, Isreal Tamir, Shlomi Moyal and Tamir Gilad of the IKMF global instructor team.
     Staci received her teaching credentials in August 2010, and her certification to teach women in February 2011. Her rank is Graduate - 3.
     Staci is married to Brian and has two wonderful children, Skylar and Braeden,and is an elementary school teacher in Minneapolis.
     In addition to Krav Maga, Staci is a distance runner. She has run 6 marathons as well as countless half marathons, 10Ks and 5Ks, and has trained other distance runners.
     She loves musicals, camping, and spending as much time with her family as possible.

     Mat Spaan is certified to teach civilians under the International Krav Maga Federation based in Israel. He earned his teaching certification in 2010.
     Mat is currently ranked as G-2 in Krav Maga and also has a background in kickboxing, Tae Kwon Do, and wrestling. In addition to his advanced training in Krav Maga, he currently trains as a white belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu.
     Mat has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and comparative religion and a master’s degree in public administration. He works for the Minnesota Department of Health’s Health Economics Program as a Program Analyst.

     Ron Elwell earned his Krav Maga instructor certification in August 2010. He trained for 20 days, 8 hours a day with instructors from Israel, and passed several rigorous tests to earn his teaching certification. Ron's ranking in the IKMF is G-3.
     Ron has a passion for physical fitness and has background in body building and martial arts. He currently enjoys weight training and kettlebells among other types of exercise.
     In addition to being a Krav Maga instructor, Ron is an actor and has recently been in feature films and short films. Above all, he loves to spend time with his wife and their little girl.

     Derwin Halim is a certified civilian Krav Maga instructor under the International Krav Maga Federation (IKMF) based in Israel. He earned his teaching credentials in Minneapolis in August 2010 and has been teaching ever since. Derwin has been practicing Krav Maga since 2007 and has attended various seminars and trainings over the years. His current rank in the IKMF system is G-3.
    .Derwin has a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and works for an engineering company based in Santa Clara, CA. He grew up in Indonesia, but has been living in the US since 1998. His hobbies range from video games to outdoor activities.

     Matt Mayotte is certified as an instructor for civilians, women and kids. Matt began training in Krav Maga in 2007 and earned his teaching credentials in 2010 in Minnesota and Texas. Matt  has attended numerous seminars in Krav Maga and currently trains in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing. His background consists of Taekwondo, Kung Fu and western boxing.
     Matt has had a variety of jobs but has been in the IT industry since 2001. Matt has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Computer Science and works as a Senior Engineer for a major retailer in Minneapolis.  In addition to his day job, Matt remodels houses as a side business.
     Outside of work and training. Matt enjoys playing guitar, cooking, parenting, traveling, fitness, and arts and culture.

     Brett Shapiro is a G-3 level instructor of Krav Maga for civilians under the International Krav Maga Federation. In addition to teaching Krav Maga, Brett actively trains in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jui-Jitsu and is versed in yoga, plyometrics and kettlebells.
    Brett has a bachelor's degree in Sociology and an MBA. in International Business. In his business career, Brett founded & managed the organic oil program for the largest vegetable oil manufacture in the Western United States.
